We truly understand that you are trusting us with a member of your family and with a key to your home, and that is why we heavily reference and background check all of our Mutt Hutters. We do random drugtesting, wear uniforms, and are trained in animal first aid. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured and are a participating member of Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

All our staff has extraordinary animal handling experience and provides the love, attention and skilled care you would expect from a professional. We all share a deep love for animals and all are college educated with many of us studying to become vets, or working as vet technicians and groomers. Many of our Mutt Hutters work at least part time at local animal rescues.

We want you to feel as confident with us as if you were hiring care for a child. We have your baby and your home in our hands, and take that responsibility extremely seriously. Our geographic coverage insures that we will be available whenever and wherever you need us. We do this for the love the animals, and that is all there is to it.

Pets adjust better to their owner's absence and experience less anxiety and stress when they remain in their own environment. In home pet care is actually less expensive than kenneling when you have more than 1 pet. You have the potential to save an extraordinary amount on the lack of needed vet visits required after cage free boarding, traditional kenneling or even pet resorts! It is well known that boredom and loneliness can cause anxiety and destructive behavior in animals. Providing your pet with company and regular exercise is critical to health and happiness. Exercise helps to lower your animals stress encouraging problem free behavior, extends their life span by staying fit and trim and promotes a healthy social temperament. The veterinarian's rule of thumb is… 10 minutes of real exercise per ten pounds of doggy each and every day, even if you have a backyard.

Melissa's Mutt Hutt puts our money where our mouths are and can be found at charity animal events including Best Friends, New Leash On Life, Little Angeles Pug Rescue and the SPCA, to name a few.
